Environmental Issues

The Ncondezi Group currently has an Environmental Management Plan ('EMP') devised in conjunction with Impacto Limitada, a Mozambican environmental consultant, which was updated in January 2009 and has been approved by the Mozambique Ministry of Co-ordination of Environmental Affairs.

As part of further environmental studies, the Ncondezi Group will commission international consultants to oversee a preliminary environmental baseline data collection exercise. The data will be used to establish an Environmental Impact Assessment ('EIA') undertaken in conjunction with the bankable feasibility study required for the mining licence application. There are significant requirements under environmental legislation, and in order to ensure that the local requirements are addressed, the Ncondezi group has retained the services of a locally-recognised environmental agency.
