Paul Venter

Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director

Paul Venter was appointed CEO in April 2013. He joined Ncondezi as COO in June 2012 and has been responsible for delivering the Company’s power strategy. Mr Venter has over 39 years' experience across Africa, Mongolia, China and Russia in the mining, power generation and transport industries.

During his recent tenure as Vice President - Energy Operations at Prophecy Coal Corp, a TSX listed company, he was instrumental in the successful commissioning of the Ulaan Ovoo coal mine in Mongolia into production within six months after the acquisition of the asset. He also played a pivotal role in the development phases of the first coal fired Independent Power Producer in Mongolia.

Prior to this, Mr Venter held a number of senior positions within the coal industry, including Managing Director of EN+ Group’s coal mining activities in Russia and senior executive positions in the coal divisions of Eskom, Gencor and Anglo American in South Africa.

Manish Kotecha

Manish Kotecha

Chief Financial Officer

Manish Kotecha has over 10 years' experience in the mining and metals sector, specialising in financial management.

Prior to joining Ncondezi, he was CFO at Caledon Resources plc, an AIM and ASX listed coal mining company. During his tenure at Caledon, Mr Kotecha was involved in two reverse takeovers: the first in 2003 when it transitioned from an internet auction house to Chinese gold explorer, and the second in 2006 when it transitioned to coal mining and exploration in Australia and a number of successful fund raisings.

He has also served as Finance Director for Carlton Resources plc (formerly KimCor Diamonds plc) and as the Group Financial Controller at Oriel Resources plc, where he was part of the team that listed Oriel on AIM. Mr Kotecha has a BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Finance.

Chief Development Officer

Hanno joined Ncondezi in early 2010, just prior to listing, where he has been responsible for corporate development as the Company has grown from a coal exploration company into an emerging power development company.

He is currently leading the Company's strategic partner search. Prior to joining the Company, he was an investment banker at JP Morgan, based in the United Kingdom and South Africa, and predominantly focused on natural resources. He holds a BSc in Economics.
